FAIRFAX, VA—AFCEA and the U.S. Naval Institute bring the dialogue about the future of the U.S. military to Virginia Beach at the Transformation Warfare conference and exposition, June 19-21, 2007 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.At Transformation Warfare, senior military leaders and defense industry experts will address the theme “Reconstituting and Reinventing the Force.” The conference, which is expected to draw over 2000 people, will cover hot issues facing the military including operational lessons learned, recruiting, training and retention, limited resources and acquisition reform. With over 120 exhibitors displaying communications, homeland security, information systems, biometric technologies and more, Transformation Warfare is the place for the community to learn about defense transformation.

 

The conference theme and panel session topics are based on input from operating forces. Speakers and panel participants will voice their different points of view and experiences with these issues, allowing attendees to benefit from their knowledge and candid discussion. Featured speakers include:

  • GEN John Abizaid, USA (Ret.), former Commander, U.S. Central Command
  • Mr. Rob Carey, Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer
  • Gen Ronald Keys, USAF, Commander, Air Combat Command
  • Mrs. Doro Bush Koch, Author, My Father, My President: A Personal Account of the Life of George H.W. Bush
  • ADM Gary Roughead, USN, Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command
  • LtGen Keith Stalder, USMC, Commanding General, II Marine Expeditionary Force
  • LTG John Wood, USA, Deputy Commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command

 

Five panel sessions will provide Transformation Warfare attendees opportunities to question experts one-on-one about the latest policy and technology issues. Topics include: warfighters’ needs; recruiting, training and retention; limited resources vs. high costs of war; acquisition process reform; and the future of legacy systems.

 

Co-located with Transformation Warfare is the Military Officers Association of America Military Spouse Symposium. This symposium is a one-day event bringing together military spouses of all services and generations, and those who support military families, for opportunities of networking and discussion. Panel discussions will include Building Leadership in Military Spouses and Understanding Today’s Generation of Military Spouses. 

 

Transformation Warfare is open to the public and admission is free. Tickets are required for meals and separate registration is required for the Military Spouse Symposium.
