The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship was developed to provide educational opportunities for talented individuals pursuing advanced degrees at the master's level and to acknowledge and honor the unique contributions of Dr. Ralph W. Shrader, the only AFCEA Chairman of the Board to be elected to two different two-year terms.  Dr. Shrader championed increased opportunities for women and minorities in the communications and electronics fields.

The AFCEA Educational Foundation is grateful to Booz Allen Hamilton for providing the initial investment to establish the Dr. Ralph W. Shrader Scholarship fund. 

The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarships will be provided directly to the winners and is in addition to any other funds which the students may receive.  Presentation will be made by a representative from the AFCEA Educational Foundation and whenever possible, Dr. Shrader or a designated representative from Booz Allen Hamilton.

Scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a master's degree in the following or related fields of electrical, electronics, chemical, systems or communications engineering; physics; mathematics; computer science; technology management; or information technology.  Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.
