Following are placement locations and dates for
summer 2008 Experience Tours. 

2008 Assignments

Navy: (2 midshipmen per opportunity)

Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Directorate, U. S. Joint Forces

  Command (USJFCOM J-9)  13-19 July

Virginia Beach, Virginia

U. S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM)  22-28 June

Miami, Florida

Air Force: (2 cadets per opportunity)

15th Air Mobility Wing  17-23 August

Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii

60th Air Mobility Wing  27 July - 2 August

Travis Air Force Base, California

Army: (2 cadets per opportunity)

U.S. Army Signal Center  10-16 August

Fort Gordon, Georgia

Director, Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC)  27 July - 2 August

Fort Monroe, Virginia

 

Requirements

Applicants should be advised of several key program criteria including:

 

Scheduling: Tours are one week.  An AFCEA representative will work with awardees to coordinate the most convenient timing for each pairing of students.  Participants will be expected to travel on a Sunday and return the following Saturday.

Documentation: Participants must have a valid driver’s license, a military identification card, no-cost/permissive travel orders issued by their ROTC command, a current security clearance, copies of any special medical waivers and a copy of their emergency data card with current contact information. 

Uniform: Participants will wear the uniform of the day specified by their sponsoring command.  Awardees will also be expected to pack appropriate physical training gear and an outfit suitable for an evening command event (i.e., dress slacks, sport coat, etc.)  Participants are not permitted to bring spouses or children. 

Feedback:  Awardees are expected to complete a short after-action report detailing their assessment of the experience.  Feedback forms are due to AFCEA within five business days of completing the week-long tour.
