Candidates must be nominated by the Professor of Military Science, Naval Science, Aerospace Studies or designated Commanding Officer as appropriate. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in ROTC, have good moral character, demonstrate academic excellence, exhibit the potential to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces, and have a financial need.

In addition, applicants must provide two Letters of Recommendation from faculty in their field of study.  An official transcript including all college-level study as well as courses in progress is also required - can be student-issued copy from Registrar's Office or certified website print-out including ROTC endorsement and signature.

Consideration for the Medal of Honor Scholarship requires an endorsement by the ROTC unit commander and must be included in the Letter of Nomination.

Consideration for the Future Heroes EXPERIENCE TOUR requires an endorsement by the ROTC unit commander and must be included in the Letter of Nomination.  (Rising Seniors only)
